  • Eligibility for BIBD Wish Campaign
    • The BIBD Wish Campaign (hereinafter referred to as “the Wish Campaign”) is open to all eligible customers. The Wish Campaign will be commenced on dates set by the Bank and advised accordingly via notices, media or any other medium of information to all customers. The Wish Campaign is subject to the terms & conditions set forth below.
    • Eligible customers refers to:
      • Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam Berhad (BIBD) Al Wadiah Personal Savings and Current Accountholders.
      • Accountholder below the age of sixteen (16), requires a parent or guardian consent to be the guardian of the account holder’s account.
      • Citizens or Permanent Residents of Brunei Darussalam accountholders.
      • Joint account holders will be considered as one account holder or one entry, and the primary accountholder shall be considered the participating accountholder in the Wish Campaign.
    • The eligibility of all qualifying account holders to participate in the Wish Campaign shall be determined by BIBD at its sole and absolute discretion.
    • Eligibility on prizes are only for accountholders who maintain a minimum monthly average balance of BND2,000.00 throughout the campaign period or any other amount determined by BIBD from time to time.
    • The following persons are not qualified to participate in the Wish Campaign:
      • All employees, members of the Shariah Advisory Body and Board of Directors of BIBD and its subsidiaries.
      • All employees of advertising and promotional agencies engaged by BIBD involved in this Wish Campaign.
      • Clients under bankruptcy / recovery / legal proceedings with BIBD or any other institutions.
      • Any person whom BIBD or any 3rd party appointed by BIBD in the Wish Campaign, has reasonable grounds for uspecting/reasonably suspects of cheating, acting dishonestly or fraudulently in the Wish Campaign.
      • Any other person whom BIBD decides to exclude from time to time in its absolute discretion without any obligation on BIBD to give any notice or any reason.
    • The issuance of each Wish Code (entitling the number of wishes) will be based on the amount deposited (through services such as counter or cash deposit machine or inward fund transfer rounded down to the nearest BND500. For example, if the customer deposited BND1,600, he will be eligible for three (3) Wish Codes only.
    • For existing BIBD accountholders having/maintaining a minimum balance of BND500 at the time of this Campaign, the accountholder shall automatically be entitled to one (1) Wish Code.
    • The Wish Code can only be obtained through the counters after an update of the passbook or statement, at any BIBD branch and will have a distinct security feature.
    • The Wish Code shall then be used to submit the accountholder’s Wish Story in the website www.BIBDWish.com (Wish website) or through a manual mode by filling in the Wish Postcard (Wish Postcard). Incompleteness in data will invalidate the eligibility to win any award.
  • Judging Criteria
    • Chosen Wish Stories are based on merits and judged on the following criteria:
      • Need for Savings: What is your current financial state? What areas of your life require you to save up for?
      • Clarity on the role of Savings: How will savings transform your current state in life? What is the reason you need savings?
      • Sustainability: What are your future plans? How will you work towards your dream?
      • Degree of Inclusiveness: Does your wish affect your loved ones or others?
  • Monthly Wish Winners
    • Shortlisted Wish submissions shall be placed on the Wish website, by the Wish Campaign administrator (Campaign administrator), a 3rd party appointed by BIBD at its sole discretion.
    • The monthly winners for the Wish Campaign will be selected on the 1st week of the following month, at a venue that will be determined and advised by BIBD.
    • Actual presentation of the Award will be the 2nd week subsequent to the winner selection on the prior week. The date and time will be advised officially through any means deemed suitable by BIBD.
    • The monthly selection will take place as follows:

    • Ten (10) winners for each month during the Wish Campaign will be selected in a manner or mechanism as determined by BIBD, and shall be witnessed by a 3rd party to be appointed by BIBD at its sole discretion.
    • Winners shall be notified through telephone within 1 week after the winner selection. The list of winners will also be posted on the Wish website and any other media as approved and deemed suitable by BIBD.
    • The ten (10) winners will be invited to an award presentation event, where each winner will be photographed. Any materials used in this Campaign may be used by BIBD at any time for marketing and promotional activities.
    • The total monthly award consists the granting of the ten (10) winners wishes up to an amount of BND80,000 or any amount determined by BIBD from time to time.
    • BIBD reserves the right to draw reserve winners to substitute any winner subsequently found to be disqualified and/or BIBD has exhausted all means to contact the initial winner.
  • Quarterly Wish Winners
    • Shortlisted Wish submissions shall be placed on the Wish website, by the Campaign administrator, a 3rd party appointed by BIBD at its sole discretion.
    • The quarterly winners for the Wish Campaign will be selected on the 1st week of the following month, at a venue that will be determined and notified by BIBD.
    • Actual presentation of the Award will be the 2nd week subsequent to the winner selection on the prior week. The date and time will be advised officially through any means deemed suitable by BIBD.
    • The quarterly selection will take place as follows:

      • Selection Quarterly Prize Presentation Date
      1st Quarterly Selection June 2009 July 2009
      2nd Quarterly Selection September 2009 October 2009
      3rd Quarterly Selection December 2009 January 2010

    • One (1) winner for each quarter during the Wish Campaign will be selected in a manner or mechanism as determined by BIBD and will be witnessed by a 3rd party to be appointed by BIBD at their sole discretion.
    • Winners will be notified through telephone within 1 week after the winner selection. The list of winners will also be posted on the Wish website and any other media as approved and deemed suitable by BIBD.
    • The one (1) winner will be invited to an award presentation event, where he/she will be photographed. Any materials used in this Campaign may be used by BIBD at any time for marketing and promotional activities.
    • At the end of each quarter, BIBD will be granting the wishes of ten (10) winners worth up to an amount of BND80,000 and one (1) winner granted a wish worth up to BND100,000 or any amount determined by BIBD from time to time.
    • BIBD reserves the first right to advise the winner of the BND100,000 wish story to ensure proper management of their rewards through availment of financial planning services offered by BIBD and not other financial institutions.
  • Grand Wish
    • Shortlisted Wish submissions shall be placed on the Wish website, by the Campaign administrator, a 3rd party appointed by BIBD at its sole discretion.
    • The Grand Winner for the Wish Campaign will be picked at a venue and time that will be determined and advised by BIBD.
    • Actual presentation of the Award for the Grand Wish will be the 2nd week in January of the following year. The date and time will be advised officially through any means deemed suitable by BIBD.
    • The selection criteria to pick the Grand Wish Winner will be based on the monthly and quarterly procedure. Only 1 (one) winner will be selected to win the Grand Prize of BND 1 Million or any amount as determined and advised by BIBD from time to time.
    • Previous monthly winners will still be eligible to win the Grand Wish.
    • All winners will be invited to an award presentation event, where each winner will be photographed. Any materials used in this Campaign may be used by BIBD at any time for marketing and promotional activities.
    • The grand award consists of the granting of the ten (10) winners up to an amount of BND80,000 , one (1) winner granted a wish worth up to BND100,000 and one (1) winner granted a wish worth up to BND1million, or any amount determined by BIBD from time to time.
    • BIBD reserves the first right to advise the winner of the BND100,000.00 and BND1 million wish stories to ensure proper management of their rewards, through availment of financial planning service offered by BIBD and not other financial institutions.
    • BIBD reserves the right to draw reserve winners to substitute any winner subsequently found to be disqualified and/or BIBD has exhausted all means to contact the initial winner.
  • Granting of Wishes
    • There will be ten (10) wish-makers for each month, eleven (11) for each quarter and twelve (12) for the grand wish throughout the Wish campaign whose wishes shall be granted, based on the monetary values determined by BIBD, at its sole discretion.
    • Non-Shariah compliant items wished for in this Wish Campaign will not be eligible for the award. Definition of non-compliant shall be as advised by the Shariah Advisory Body of BIBD. For example, items for pure entertainment like a gaming set and home entertainment system will not be considered.
    • If there is any excess amount after the granting of the Wishes of the BND100,000 and BND1 million winners in this Campaign, the remaining balance shall be credited into the winner’s participating account over a period deemed feasible by BIBD at its own discretion.
    • All awards are neither transferable nor exchangeable. The awards shall be based on the Wish Stories submitted by the accountholders through the means stipulated in this terms and conditions.
    • The award must be claimed by the winner in person within ONE week of the date of notification or any date mutually agreed between BIBD and the winner.
    • BIBD reserves the right to forfeit any unclaimed awards within the timeframe determined and advised.
    • Any winner whose award has been forfeited shall not be entitled to any payment or compensation in whatever form from BIBD.
    • BIBD makes no warranty as to the proper functioning of the items redeemed with the awards or any warranties accompanying the items redeemed with the awards.
    • BIBD reserves the right to replace or substitute any awards in the Wish Campaign with any other prize of equal or similar value without any notice or assigning any reasons at any time during the Campaign.
  • General Conditions
    • A customer shall not be entitled to win awards in the Campaign if he/she is discovered to be in default of any terms and conditions governing his/her account or financing or any other services offered by BIBD or has ceased to hold the account or is in default of his/her financing facilities with BIBD at the time the prizes are awarded.
    • The decision of BIBD on all matters relating to or in connection with the selection of the Wish Campaign Winners shall be final and binding on all parties concerned. BIBD shall not be obliged to enter into or entertain any correspondences with any account holder or any other person on any matters concerning the Wish Campaign.
    • BIBD shall not be liable to any person for any loss or damages incurred or arising from the Campaign including without limitation, any transactions that are processed late, incorrectly, error in computing and/or any breakdown or malfunctions in any computer system or equipment.
    • In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and conditions and any brochure, marketing or promotional material relating to the Wish Campaign, these terms and conditions shall prevail. For the avoidance of doubt, in the event of any dispute/inconsistency in the English and Malay versions of these Terms and Conditions, the English version shall prevail.
    • BIBD may at any time at its absolute discretion, without notice or assigning any reason therefore, delete, vary, supplement, amend or modify any one or more of these terms and conditions. In addition, BIBD reserves the right at its absolute discretion without being required to assign any reason to terminate the Campaign without any liability on its part (whether accrued or otherwise).
    • BIBD’s decision on any matters relating to this Wish Campaign is final and binding.
    • PRIVACY: Accountholders participating in the Wish Campaign agree that personal data including, but not limited to, name, phone number, and email address may be collected, processed, stored and otherwise used for the purposes of conducting and administering the Wish Campaign. This data may be transferred to a third party in a manner that shall not contravene the customer’s rights and privacy. Further, this data may also be used by BIBD and the Campaign Administrator to verify a Wish Maker’s identity, postal address and telephone number in the event a Wish Maker qualifies for any applicable prize as well as to deliver the applicable prize(s). If a Wish Maker does not provide the required data when requested either through the campaign website or through the Wish Postcard, that Wish Maker’s Entries will be ineligible for any awards. All information provided will be used solely for the purpose of administering the Wish Campaign.
    • By accepting a prize, the Wish Maker agrees to BIBD and its agencies use of the Wish Maker’s name and/or likeness and Wish Entry for advertising and promotional purposes without any form of compensation from BIBD.
